<\/a>Why should we split and press livestock manure? Raw manure is difficult to handle. Transport is labor-intensive, takes up storage space, pollutes the environment and spreads diseases if not handled and stored properly. At the same time, manure causes bad smell and lures flies and mosquitoes. By segregation, the farm not only minimizes these inherent disadvantages, but also turns this waste material into a useful byproduct. Some of the additional benefits of splitting are:<\/p>\n
